Bravo Book Design

Why Bravo Book Design?

Over the course of 20 years we at Bravo Book Design have worked with:

  • Poetry and literary publishers
  • General title publishers
  • Self-published authors.
  • And our previous publishing company, Gray Dog Press.

We have extensive experience in printing, publishing, and book production and know the industry well.

Experienced and Efficient

With our experience in book design, we are efficient and can usually have a lot of projects completed in a couple of weeks depending on other prevailing work. Just due to the complexity of some projects they can take considerably longer, but we can usually tell how much time and work is going to go into the project prior to starting. For instance, a 60,000-word novel will take considerably less time than a memoir that includes a hundred photos of the author’s life.

Extensive Print and eBook Experience

Along with longer runs we also know many books are intended to end up on one or more of the POD (Print-On-Demand) platforms. The way we format and lay out the book it lends itself well to easy, elegant, and efficient transitions from print to electronic forms. While some things do not translate directly from what you can do in print to how an eBook will handle them, our designs will generally transfer well to the electronic formats.

  • We are easy to work with and will LISTEN to your wants and desires for your book.
  • We are EFFICIENT and can get your book done quickly and for a reasonable fee.
  • We understand TRADITIONAL as well as POD requirements for production.
  • We DELIVER all final source and run files for print and eBook when the project is complete.
  • We can COACH you on getting your book set up on your desired POD platforms to increase visibility and findability.

Self-Publishing

Over the years we have worked with probably a couple hundred self-publishing authors to take their manuscript all the way through the design process, coordinate traditional production for short to long copy runs, and also preparation of and managing their print and eBooks on their desired platform. When working with a self-published author we take things one step at a time explaining what and why so there are clear lines of communication and the author gains valuable knowledge along the way. We also coach them on setting up and managing their POD accounts. Because a book exists, does not mean it will sell. When nearing the end of a project, we can explain the nuances of how to get the book not just available, but visible amidst the hundreds of thousands of others in its genre.
